Off the Skin celebrates the creative practices of tattoo artists beyond the tattoo chair.

Tattoo artists spend their careers creating work for the body, but their artistic practices rarely end at the skin. Beyond appointments and commissions are paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, and mixed-media works shaped by their own ideas, experiments, stories, and curiosities.

This exhibition brings those works together and invites audiences to experience another side of the artists they may know primarily through tattooing.
Off the Skin recognizes tattoo artists as multidisciplinary artists—creating work not only to be worn, but to be experienced, displayed, and collected.
